Chilly Goat has a 2.1 HP Chiller versus your 1/4 HP Chiller?
- In our testing 1/4 HP was sufficient and also the most energy efficient.
- Chilly Goat Recommends Having a Dedicated Electrical Circuit For their Tank because of the increased power draw from the 2.1 HP Chiller. Ours works on almost any plug because our electrical load (amps) is lower.
- Keep in mind, that higher HP chillers only make a difference while actively dropping the temperature of the water. Once the water reaches the target temperature (let’s say 40 degrees), then the chiller doesn’t do nearly as much and a 1/4 HP vs a 2 HP to maintain temperature doesn’t make much difference despite the sizeable rating difference.
